Viburnum


Viburnum tinus is a popular hedging plant in many part of Australia for its hardiness in a wide range of climate zones. Viburnum has deep green leathery leaves and flower in winter through to spring with clusters of tiny pink buds that open to white flowers. Once trained as a hedge it will only need trimming a few times a year to keep it neat and tidy. It is versatile and will grow in full sun to dense shade.

Viburnum tinus

Viburnums are an old fashion favourite that for many years went missing in Australian gardens as new plant varieties took the limelight. In recent years there has been a revival in their use because they are just so tough and reliable as a hedge plant. They will grow in wide range of soil types and climatic regions and have been favoured for their winter flowering a time when many gardens look drab.
