Diosma are a very hardy garden plant that originated from South Africa. They were a popular plant in the 80’s and 90’s because of their tough drought hardy nature. Diosma are easy to care for, can be trained as a low growing hedge or can be mass planted to great effect. Diosma has fine lime green aromatic foliage and small pink flowers from winter to spring and it will occasionally spot flower at other times of the year as well.

Coleonema pulchellum

Coleonema pulchellum, (its former botanical name was Coleonema pulchrum), is commonly call Diosma. Suited to full sun and part shade, it is light frost tolerant and survives dry periods. Diosma is of the plant family Rutaceae, a plant family known for fragrant foliage from the oil glands in their leaves. There are many Australian native plants in the family Rutaceae. The foliage makes great filler for flower arrangements.
