Dwarf Nandina

Dwarf Nandina as the name suggests is a small compact foliage plant with a colourful range of foliage colours ranging from red to yellow and green. Its compact bun shaped habit makes it great for garden borders and mass planting and can also be planted to form a low growing informal hedge. It is often used in Japanese gardens but is also at home in any garden style.

Nandina domestica `Nana`

Nandina domestica ‘Nana’ goes by a few common names, Dwarf Nandina, Dwarf Sacred Bamboo or Dwarf Heavenly Bamboo. Dwarf Nandina is a tough evergreen plant that is suited to a wide range of climates. It grows well in hot, dry situations as well as shady aspects. It can grow in climates with heavy winter frost and cold temperatures and in cold climates the foliage turns a deep red in winter and in spring the new growth flushes with bright green leaves. Dwarf Nandina grows best in free draining soils. It is sometimes referred to as bamboo-like even though botanically it is different.
